Small controls that make casual play clearer.
Use these checks before downloading, paying or reading a dramatic number in an advertisement.
Guide 01
Control in-app purchases
Start with the official store listing. “Free” generally describes the download, while optional items may still cost money. On a shared device, require authentication for every purchase and use the family controls provided by Apple or Google. Do not rely on a child or guest noticing a small price label during play.
- Read the store’s “In-App Purchases” or equivalent disclosure.
- Require a password, biometric check or guardian approval for each transaction.
- Review receipts and subscriptions from the platform account, not only inside the game.
- Treat extra moves, lives and virtual currency as purchases, not guaranteed progress.
Guide 02
Check accessibility before a long session
Bright candy palettes can make similar colours difficult to distinguish. Look for shape differences, contrast, reduced motion, separate sound controls and comfortable touch targets. If an effect flashes or moves rapidly and the game has no control for it, shorten the session or choose a calmer alternative.
- Check whether pieces remain recognisable without relying on colour alone.
- Reduce system motion when the game supports device preferences.
- Test text size and target spacing on the actual phone, not only store screenshots.
- Confirm that sound cues have visual equivalents.
Guide 03
Read multiplier language literally
A multiplier is incomplete without a base value and conditions. In a score game, 3x may triple points for a stated duration. In a real-money product, 150x can describe a theoretical amount relative to stake under specific rules. It is never evidence of a guaranteed outcome by itself.
BaseWhat value is being multiplied?
TriggerWhat event activates it?
DurationOne move, one round or a defined period?
LimitMaximum theoretical value or common result?
